A glimpse · what goes on the board

Not a cafe with wifi. A room with a purpose.

Six things running from day one. Everything else we'll figure out with the people who show up first.

    Opening board

Subject to change · you'll change it

    The third problem

Every hard business problem has software. Networking doesn't.

You can put stock on a system. You can put invoices, payments, follow-ups and forecasts on a system — that's what BusinessDesk is for. You can put knowledge in a community — that's the Hub.

But you cannot install the moment a supplier decides you're worth a better rate. You cannot automate the founder two tables away who has already solved the thing costing you ₹40,000 a month. You cannot schedule the offhand sentence that turns into a partnership.

Networking is the one growth lever most owners know matters and almost nobody works at, because it has no interface, no dashboard and no obvious next action. So it gets postponed, forever.

A room is the interface. Base91 Cafe is what happens when you stop treating networking as an event you attend twice a year and start treating it as a place you go on a Tuesday.

    • Layer 01Systems — BusinessDesk. Daily operations under control.
    • Layer 02Intelligence — alerts, summaries, forecasts, decisions.
    • Layer 03Community — Base91 Hub. Peers and experts, online.
    • Layer 04Opportunity — this. The room where the other three meet a person.

    The maths of a conversation

A ₹320 bill is the cheapest line item in the business.

Networking gets cut first because it looks like a cost and never like a return. So we itemised it. Same table, same afternoon, ninety days apart.

    • CostTwo coffees and an afternoon you were going to spend working anyway.
    • ReturnBetter rates, faster answers, a hire you didn't advertise for, and work that arrives without a pitch.
    • CatchIt only pays if you're in the room repeatedly. One visit is a coffee. Fifty visits is a network.

    The feeling

You get ready to go on a date. You get ready to go out with friends. Nobody gets ready to open a laptop at the dining table. We're building the room you'd get ready for.

Warm light, hard surfaces, quiet machines. Chairs you can sit in for four hours and a counter you'd happily stand at for ten minutes. Enough polish that you'd bring a client. Enough grit that you'd stay past closing.

And one rule, printed on a ceramic card at every table — because the hardest part of networking isn't talking to people, it's knowing who wants to be talked to.

    Before you ask

The questions we get, answered straight.

    What is Base91 Cafe?

Base91 Cafe is a work-and-networking cafe for small-business owners and founders — the Space layer of the Base91 ecosystem, alongside BusinessDesk (technology) and Base91 Hub (community). It is a 900 sq ft, 34-seat room designed so that doing your own work and meeting useful people happen in the same place, on an ordinary Tuesday.

How is it different from a coworking space or a regular cafe?

A coworking space sells you a desk and leaves the meeting to chance. A regular cafe sells you coffee and expects you to keep to yourself. Base91 Cafe is built around the introduction: a no-reservations long table where sitting down signals you are open to talking, a table card you flip between Open to talk and Heads down, weekly business clinics, and a barista briefed to connect people who are working on related problems.

    When does Base91 Cafe open?

Opening in 2026. The space is signed and fit-out is under way. People on the founding list get the address and the soft-open date before either is made public.

    Where is Base91 Cafe located?

The address goes to the founding list first. Join the waitlist and you will get the location and the soft-open invite before the address is published anywhere else.

What is a founding seat and what does it include?

There are 91 founding seats — 91 is India's country code, not a marketing number. The first 91 people set the hours, rituals and rules of the room. A founding seat includes your name cut permanently into the wall behind the counter, the first 90 days of long-table access at no cost, an invite to the soft open before the address is public, and one reserved business-clinic slot in the opening month.

    Who is Base91 Cafe for?

Small-business owners, operators, founders and the people who work with them — anyone whose growth depends as much on who they know as on what they run. It is built for people who want somewhere to work that also puts them next to a supplier, a hire, a customer or a peer who has already solved what they are stuck on.

What are the zones inside the room?

Six: the Counter (4 stools, where the barista acts as the room's first connector), the Long Table (12 seats, no reservations), the Deep Work Counter (8 window-facing stools, silent until 1pm), two Two-Chair Booths for meetings that are actually decisions, the Demo Corner for showing what you built, and a Phone Booth for the calls you should not take at the table.

Do I have to network to sit there?

No. Every table carries a ceramic card you flip between Open to talk and Heads down. Green side up means come over; the other side means you are working and nobody will interrupt. The deep-work counter is silent until 1pm by default. The room works precisely because saying no is built into it.

How does Base91 Cafe fit with BusinessDesk and Base91 Hub?

Base91 treats a small business as four layers: Systems (BusinessDesk — sales, stock, payments, reports), Intelligence (alerts, summaries, forecasts), Community (Base91 Hub — peers and experts, online) and Opportunity. The Cafe is the fourth layer — the room where the other three finally meet a person.

    91 isn't a marketing number. It's our country code.

The first 91 people through the door set what this place becomes — the hours, the rituals, the rules. After that we're just running someone else's cafe.

    • Your name cut into the wall behind the counter. Permanently.
    • First 90 days of long-table access, on us.
    • An invite to the soft open, before the address is public.
    • One business clinic slot reserved in the opening month.

Location goes to the list first. No newsletter blast, no spam.

You're on the founding list. We'll write once with the address and the soft-open date — nothing before that.
